Pirates take two vs. Parma

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Rocky River swept the Parma Redmen in Great Lakes Conference action Wednesday.

The River boys (2-1, 2-1 GLC) downed the Redmen, 124-19. The Pirate girls (3-0, 3-0) won by a score of 126-11.

On the boys' side, Rocky River won 15-of-17 events. In a show of tremendous depth, the Pirates had 31 team members score points in the conference win. River boys combined to earn 56 new personal bests in the meet. Seven Double-R athletes -- Chase DeClerck (4x800, 1600, 4x400), Greg Ganor (4x800, 4x400), Ed Opris (100, 4x100), Tommy Vacca (4x200, 4x100), Nic DiSalvo (4x100, 200), Charlie Sales (4x100, long jump), Ruairi Zuercher (4x800, 3200) -- logged multiple wins on the day.

The River girls won all 17 events. Makenna Pfaff had a big day for the Pirates. Pfaff won the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump, and 300-meter high hurdles.
